My name is Li-Ting Chuang, and I am currently serving as a veterinarian at Farglory Ocean Park, the largest aquarium on the east coast of Taiwan. Our facility houses bottlenose dolphins, Risso’s dolphins, sea lions, seals, manatees, and a wide range of fish species. It is a privilege to be responsible for the health and welfare of these marine animals. For my master’s research, I investigated what causes white scars in Risso’s dolphins. This work allowed me to study the species extensively and gain valuable insights into their biology and behavior. Risso’s dolphins, in particular, have become my favorite species for their remarkable combination of competitiveness and charm.
